Clickasnap. Is it Legit? Or a Scam?
Update as of January 24 2023: The new version of the Clickasnap website is now finally live and so the interface for withdrawal will look slightly different. It’s actually better! It still functions the same as is described in this post.
I should start by saying I don't believe that the Clickasnap platform is some kind of scam designed to separate enthusiastic photographers from their money.
I've seen enough evidence online from frequent users of the site that withdrawals are paid into PayPal accounts with little or no problem quite regularly.
I have however never attempted to make a withdrawal myself. And since I have a review of Clickasnap on this site which seems to get a reasonable amount of traffic, I thought it's about time I attempted to try and actually get hold of my earnings so I can report back any problems!
Even though I've been using the site for around five years, the pay per view figure was very small for the majority of my time uploading and interacting on the site.
As of right now, which is December 13th 2022, I have a grand total of $58.20 in my Clickasnap account. Not much for five years I know, but I've really not been as active on the platform for any where near the amount of time as I would have liked.
If I get paid it'll no doubt be an incentive to put in more effort for sure!
So if you are interested in signing up to Clickasnap but are unsure whether it's worth it, keep coming back to this post as I update my progress trying to get my money! Hopefully it's straightforward!

It's time for the first step! I'm going to the settings page of my account where there's a button which says “Check Earnings”. After clicking this, I'm informed of the amount I've earned, and prompted to enter my PayPal email address.
You must earn at least $15 before you can make a withdrawal. My $58.20 should be no problem then!
So I'm going to enter the email, then press the return key, as there’s currently no button, and wait for PayPal to receive my fortune!
Immediately after hitting return, I’m greeted with the following page…
“Awaiting payment” doesn’t at least sound like anything has gone wrong yet! Payment is apparently very quick but does not happen over the weekends. So if you request payment on a Friday, expect to have to wait until Monday to receive your money.
I'll update soon on this post to let you know what happens next! Fingers are crossed! :)

Well that didn’t take long! I had an email early this afternoon from PayPal informing me that a payment had been made by Clickasnap. I logged in to find my account credited with $56.21. Not quite the full $58.20 I was expecting as PayPal have taken a $1.99 fee. But I’m happy the withdrawal process overall was quick and easy.
The owner of Clickasnap has mentioned that other options of receiving payment will be made available in the future. Hopefully that will be soon, especially now that the new version of the site has launched. This is good to know, as if I had withdrawn the minimum amount of $15 and lost $1.99 to PayPal, I’d have been more annoyed! Maybe for now, don’t withdraw your earnings until you’ve built up a larger figure.
Well this was a shorter post than I was expecting! I just presumed something would go wrong or Clickasnap would want to see evidence that my photos were my own work, like sending raw files or something. But it was very easy and I was paid in less than 24 hours!
I guess now I will start to use the platform much more now knowing that it’s reliable and trustworthy. Although hopefully I can make more than $58 in the next five years!
